1. DOORS
Ensure all doors are securely closed before starting the engine. Check your door is properly closed and that passengers have closed theirs.
2. SEAT

3. STEERING
Adjust the steering wheel so your arms have a slight bend when holding the wheel at the 'quarter-to-three' position. The top of the wheel shouldn't block your view of the instruments.
4. SEATBELT
Fasten your seatbelt and ensure all passengers have done the same. Check the belt isn't twisted and sits across your pelvis and chest correctly.
5. HEAD RESTRAINT
Adjust the head restraint so the middle of it is level with your ears. This helps prevent whiplash in case of an accident.
6. MIRRORS
Adjust all mirrors to eliminate blind spots:
- Interior mirror: Frame the entire rear window
- Side mirrors: Show a small portion of the car body and the road behind
